The last match between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad saw the struggle of three-time champions to make the mark yet again in the on-going IPL 2020.

Though MS Dhoni and his men walked up the field after a decent halt and better plans were expected from them, their performance has again raised several questions on the team. Batting first, the SRH men posted 164 on board, young Priyam Garg stole all the limelight by playing a terrific knock of 51* off 26.

The opening order of the CSK did no good to the team again, and the team struggled in a tight spot. CSK was already four wickets down within ten overs, and the duo of MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja was expected to finish things well for the team. Jadeja’s 50 off 35 and Dhoni’s 47 off 36 was not enough for the team, and they fell seven runs short of the target.

While the CSK skipper was trying his level best to change results for CSK, he was getting dehydrated often and was seen struggling while running between the wickets. His condition also fetched in support staff, and he was treated as per requirements.

The extremely dry and hot conditions in the UAE were supposedly taking a toll on his health and fitness. Many around the world have raised questions on his form and fitness, opining that he isn’t able to do the required job for his squad.

An indirect dig at MS Dhoni by Irfan Pathan

In the same light, former Indian pacer, Irfan Pathan, also shared a cryptic tweet to take an indirect dig at MS Dhoni and his current struggles. He wrote– “Age is just a number for some and for others a reason to be dropped.”

It seemed a clear indication where he wanted to point out that he was being dropped from the national team while he was just 27. On the other hand, MS Dhoni continues to play cricket even if he is touching 40.

Well, Dhoni’s form in IPL 2020 has become a big subject of talk for the entire cricket fraternity. Even CSK is having a terrible time in this season, they really need to come up with better plans and combination to make things respectable for themselves.
