Mumbai Indians returned to the top of the table again following their big win against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in Sharjah. David Warner held the chase from one end with a 44-ball 60 but the equation went out of their reach. SRH reached the 100-run mark in 10.2 overs but managed to score only 74 more runs.
Here are all the statistical highlights from Mumbai Indians’ big win over the Sunrisers Hyderabad:
A rare big total for MI against SRH:
208/5 – Mumbai Indians’ total of 208/5 is the first-ever 200+ total recorded during MI-SRH IPL games. MI’s total of 184/3 while chasing 179 during the 2013 home game was the previous highest total during MI-SRH IPL matches.
7 – Mumbai Indians now have recorded a 200+ total against all the seven current opponents in the IPL. RCB, CSK and KXIP are the other teams to have 200+ totals against seven different oppositions.
1 – This match was the first in the IPL for both Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Sharjah Stadium. Both the teams played nine IPL matches apiece before this game in UAE; all of them either in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
20+ scores galore:
6 – Mumbai Indians became the first team to record six players scoring 20+ runs during an IPL match. Skipper Rohit Sharma got out for six runs while the rest of the six players who batted for MI in the match scored 20 and more runs.
10 – Alongside the six MI players, a total of four players for the Sunrisers Hyderabad also scored 20+ runs in this game. Hence, this match became only the 2nd in IPL history where as many as ten players scored at least 20 runs.
A quick-fire knock towards the end from Krunal:
500 – Krunal Pandya, with his unbeaten 20 runs off 4 balls, became the first player to have a strike rate of 500 during an IPL inning while scoring at least ten runs.
Warner’s milestone game:
50 – This game was David Warner’s 50th match as captain in the IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Warner has led SRH team to 28 victories and has scored 2226 runs in the 50 games as SRH skipper.
A mixed day for Kaul:
64 – The 64 runs conceded by Siddharth Kaul are the most by a player in an IPL match outside India. Mashrafe Mortaza gave away 58 runs in his four overs during the 2009 edition game for KKR against Deccan Chargers in 2009. Overall, only five players conceded more runs than Kaul’s 64 in an IPL game.
51 – The wicket of Suryakumar Yadav was the 50th wicket of Siddharth Kaul in his 46-match IPL career. Kaul picked up 45 wickets from 35 matches he played for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL.
