Here are all the statistical highlights from Kolkata Knight Riders’ first win of the 2020 IPL.
Kolkata Knight Riders earned their first points of the IPL 2020 with a comfortable 7-wicket victory against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. David Warner changed the trend of win the toss and chase but the Sunrisers ended up with the lowest first-innings of the season. Manish Pandey’s 38-ball 51 played a major role in guiding SRH to 142/4 which was never enough against the KKR batting. The Sunrisers got Narine and Karthik for ducks but Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 70 off 62 deliveries saw them seal a comfortable win.
Here are all the statistical highlights from KKR vs SRH game:
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s worst streak:
5 – Sunrisers Hyderabad has failed to win any of their last five matches in the Indian Premier League. This is the first time Sunrisers have failed to register a win across any five consecutive matches in the IPL. This streak of SRH began from the last season’s game at the Wankhede where they lost to Mumbai Indians during the Super Over.
3 – The 2020 IPL is only the 3rd IPL season for Sunrisers which they began with successive defeats. SRH lost their first two matches in 2014 season also hosted by UAE and in the 2016 edition where their first two matches were against RCB and KKR respectively, same as in the current season.
KKR-SRH Even stevens:
5-5 – Both Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad won five matches apiece across the last ten meetings in the IPL. Interestingly, both the teams won alternative matches in those ten games.
Karthik’s first duck in IPL:
4 – Dinesh Karthik now has been dismissed for a duck four times against the Sunrisers Hyderabad; the joint-most ducks for any player against an opponent in the IPL. Gautam Gambhir (vs MI), Rohit Sharma (vs RCB) and Kedar Jadhav (vs KXIP) are the other players to bag as many as four ducks against an opponent in the IPL.
1 – The duck in this match was Dinesh Karthik’s first across 31 innings for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. Karthik now has a total of nine ducks in the IPL history including each of his last three coming against SRH only.
Shubman eases through the chase:
112.9 – Shubman Gill had a strike rate of 112.9 during his unbeaten 62-ball 70 which is now the joint 3rd slowest innings in the IPL of 60+ deliveries. JP Duminy scored 59 off 63 balls at 93.65 strike rate in 2009 season game against KXIP while Aaron Finch made 68 off 62 balls at 109.68 SR during the 2014 edition against MI.
During the 2019 edition game against KXIP, David Warner also scored an unbeaten 70 off 62 balls at 112.9 SR against Kings XI Punjab.
Manish fails to take SRH to victory:
1/7 – Only one of Manish Pandey’s 50+ score in the IPL for the Sunrisers Hyderabad has come in winning cause. Sunrisers ended up on losing in five matches while another game ended in a Tie which SRH lost in Super Over.
